Art Hide's Signature Cowhide Collection

Recently, we had the privilege of being featured in some of Australia's leading publications, namely: Huffington Post, The West and the newly launched Smart Spaces by Belle! Here are some excerpts from those features. The Huffington Post feature, written by Leigh Campbell talks about the cowhide rugs came back in fashion and started out as a high end trend, until it trickled down into mass retailing with the organically shaped basic hide rugs. They go on to give Art Hide a special mention for taking on this trend in its own unique way, accented with exquisite colours and luxurious metallics.

"Australian sisters Kura Perkins and Bree Hay-Hendry set out seven years ago to use the raw material in a totally new way‚ the cowhide used in their range is from Brazil and Argentina, and is a by-product from the country's meat consumption. That's not always the case with leather products."

The article further touches upon our traditional yet modern approach towards producing Art Hide's signature collection of hides of heirloom quality. They quoted Kura on her goal when it comes to producing quality products, "We make our products from 'A Grade' cowhide leather only, which ensures a beautiful lustre, using Argentinean and Brazilian hide, as well as some from Italy.. everything we do is vetted for quality, safety and sustainability".

Some of our premium hide collection floor rugs like the gorgeous Emerald and Black Trilogia rugs, the metallic batik-motifs made by stencils on the luxurious cream Isola hide, as well as the Grey Faceta and the Blue Angulo from the Tiled rug collection.

Our second feature appeared in The West Australian also talked about our eclectic designs and unique rug collections and the ethical sourcing and production process. As pictured below, The Emerald Trilogia floor rug from our new Tiled Rug collection emerges as a clear favourite! And last but not the least, Bauer Media's Belle recently launched its inaugural Smart Spaces spinoff magazine today which features a line up of apartments designed by leading Australian architects and interior designers. The magazine showcases a selection of stunning spaces decorated with exquisite decor items from all over the world. We are delighted to have the grey coloured Espina floor rug from Art Hide's Signature Tiled Rugs collection featured among the chosen few.
